how do I know where I could get all the info about who I could invest with? all the companys and cost and soo on

That's a big question!

You might start with someone like fidelity.com or etrade.com or some other site...so see the variety of stocks and mutual funds that you can invest with...but that only covers some of your options.

Can you be more specific about what you're looking for?
