liz28 Apr 18, 2009, 08:06 AM Be careful because there are carjacking out that are placing a flyer/paper on the back window of people cars at parking lots.
Unspected drivers would pull out their parking space and realize the paper/flyer then get out of their car to remove it before they continue on with their journey. This is exactly want the carjackers want you to do. Once they get out and leave your car door open with the engine on the carjackers would come out from hiding and drive off with your car.
The only good thing is that nobody gets hurt but who wants to be carjack? So watch out because this already happen to one of my friends in South Carolina. The responding police officer advised her a few other people have been getting carjack the same way.
nitelight198073 Apr 18, 2009, 12:11 PM That is soo crazy, criminals get smarter everyday dont they......thanks for the info

Well at least they are not hurting anyone, but if someone wants to steal your car they will
shazamataz Apr 19, 2009, 05:32 AM Someone tried to steal my car just before Christmas and they failed... damaged all of my locks and my steering column but meh... replacing that was cheaper than replacing my car!
Thanks for the heads up Liz28 :)
HelpinHere Apr 19, 2009, 09:25 PM Thanks for the tip liz!
Now, lets just hope that more potential-victims see this than potential-criminals, or else it may do more damage than it's worth! XD

Wondergirl Jun 11, 2009, 07:59 PM Snopes has this listed as an urban legend --
snopes.com: Flyers on Car Windows Carjacking (http://www.snopes.com/crime/warnings/carjack.asp)
liz28 Jun 11, 2009, 08:16 PM This style of carjacking happen to my friend in SC and the officer told her it happen to other people. I guess some people actually tried this urban legand. People will try anything.
One time I was watching the news and heard a guy jumped off his roof with an open umbrella to see if he could fly. I was shocked!
Right now in Manhattan a guy is runing around grabbing females butts then he runs away.

Guys have done that since caveman days.
liz28 Jun 11, 2009, 08:22 PM I know that and after they catch him someone else will do it.
justcurious55 Jun 11, 2009, 11:11 PM and i thought they just put the flyers on to be annoying! thanks for the tip

Ya, this sounds like an urban legend.
If you would like me to exit my car a gun would be much more effective than a flyer.
EDIT
Just noticed the Snopes link, guess I was right.
