The motor on my hot water heater keeps popping the internal breaker on the motor what wouild cause this to happen

No, the oil burner motor I have to keep reseting the rest button on the motor itself.

Not many oil burners in our area, so i havent had enough hands on experience with them to give you any advice. I hope one of the others here can help you out. Good luck. And i hope you can get it fixed.

No, the oil burner motor I have to keep reseting the rest button on the motor itself.

A weak motor circuit breaker (red reset button) can be a problem or the oil pump is creating to much drag on the motor causing it to pop the breaker. Try removing the motor to oil pump coupling and wire the motor direct bypassing the safety control and see if it will run by itself for awhile. Is so the pump could be suspect.
