Hello,

I filed my taxes through a tax consultant, I think he filed it wrong. He claimed virtual business expenses, when I am working at a company. I could not check all of the tax return in detail when filed.

I am also in a process of receiving my new W2, which I will get it after one month.

So my question is,

Shall I correct my incorrectly filed tax return before 15 th April? How can I do that?

Or

Shall I wait to get my new W2c and then file for amendment?

Thank you.

Regards,

Wait for the new W2 and file a 1040x.

My cousin's husbands going through the same thing. If you don't wait until you get the new W2 then you'll never get the money back you didn't get. It would be lost for good. Trust me I know you're better off with the 1040.
