I have naturally mousy brown hair and I love the reddish color treatment I buy over the counter from Loreal. I'm in a wedding in 1 1/2 weeks and I have decided to do something silly and go darker than my average color-It turned out purple! I've been told to use a little baking soda in my shampoo, clairifying shampoo and dye it my normal reddish/blonde before the wedding. Am I going to create a bigger disaster by doing this?

Baking soda is totally overrated as far as doing anything. It will not fade your hair. You'd be better off using clarifying shampoos or even dish detergents or Tide.

If it's really bad, use ColorFix or Color Oops to remove the artificial color, then re-dye it with a better dye.
