Hi,

I am looking for a good software to use for daily journal entries and adjustments, that will allow me to create at least a balance sheet & income statement and perhaps a few reports (like inventory, accounts receivables). I need a real double-entry & simple reliable software. Peachtree & Quickbooks have too many bells & whistles. Ideally, a software that would also allow downloading my business bank statement and allow classifying each line if the statement into MY account plan.

Thanks!

GnuCash sounds like just what your after. It has double entry bookkeeping and can generate pretty good reports can also access your online accounts but I've never used that feature.

I recommend you try it, it sounds like just what you need.

All you need is complete confidence
in bookkeeping and EXCEL.
What I am saying is CREATE YOUR OWN
software.
I have been working on such a system
before Windows existed and before Excel existed since 1984.
Send me to ROLCAM@<hidden>,
one month bank statement and your chart of accounts.
You would need to identify the type of deposits and expenses with a code from your chart.
The safety is that all your work can be controlled.

Last APRIL you asked for advice and
you decided not to take it , because I have not heard from you.
Now , you are still searching for an answer.??

Ideally, a software that would also allow downloading my business bank statement and allow classifying each line if the statement into MY account plan.
THIS IS NO PROBLEM !!

best regards ,

Perhaps they are still searching for an answer because they didn't want to use Excel. Not everyone wants to 'create their own software." I know you think Excel is the perfect software for everything, but no it's not.

As soon as you have it fully developed into a working accounting system, you can make that available to people. Until that time, most people aren't going to have a clue of how to do this in Excel. (I don't even want to do it. I use it, but not to replace something like Peachtree.)
