A rigid insulated chamber is divided into two parts by a partition. The left hand chamber has a volume of 0.1 m^3 and contains air at 475 degrees C and 20 MPa. The right hand chamber has a volume of 0.2 m^3 and contains air at 425 degrees C and 10 MPa. The partition is ruptured and equilibrium is retored adiabatically.

a) Explain why this is not a quasi-equilibrium process.

b) Calculate the total mass of air.

c) Using the First Law, find the final air temperature. Calculate the final air pressure.

I can do b), just using pV=nRT. The answer is 19.3 kg. I can't do the other two.
