Hello,

I am in US on H1 visa since last 4 years and from last 1 and 1/2 year my wife is also with me on H4 visa. In the last year she had done a Microsoft Certifation Exam. So can I claim the Exam Fees in my tax return?

If yes, how because I can not claim my wife as my depent. Please advise.

Thank you

You can file joint return as residents and get standard deduction and exemptions for both of you. You can deduct tuition and fee expenses but certificate exam does not qualify.
