Can I get a septoplasty done in a Drs. office? I have had mant tests done, but feel that I have a deviated septum. I had nose surgery about 3 yrs. ago, for mr cartliage that was squeezed together with the left side of my nose. I have been dizzy off & on for 5 yrs which affects my balance. I think the surgery made my symtons worse. I also suffer with all yr. allergies, which makes breathing difficult.
I saw this surgery performed on the tv show, "The Doctors" & maybe if I have it done, it would help me. What are my chances of this procedure helping me?
Thankyou,
Mrs Judith Shorey

To answer your question, septoplasty's actually a pretty lengthy procedure (about 1.5 hours) that must be done in the OR, but much of the post-op treatment (such as to stop the bleeding) is done at the office.

I'm not entirely sure if the septoplasty will help with the dizziness/loss of balance, unless the previously performed surgery is affecting your oxygen intake. You'll have to consult a doctor for more info on this.
