I live in NC but I moved to KY for about 5 months where I worked and rented out apartment with my friend. However i kept my NC driver's license/tag and address. I made $7825.06 in KY. Then I moved back to NC where I live now. I made $15783.44 in NC. Do I need to file in both states. If so should I file separately and which taxes do I need to file?

KY: If you are present in a state, then any income earned during this period, must be reported to the state.

NC: To your resident state, you must report your worldwide income for the year.
