Hi. The hot water supply tube under my bathroom sink started leaking in the middle of its length. I turned the shutoff valve to the right as far it would go to turn the water off. But the tube still won't stop leaking. And if I turn the hot water faucet handle on, there are drops coming from the faucet. Should I tape up the tube? If so, with what? Or will I be forced to turn off the water completely for the house?

Thanks.

Sorry, I forgot to add that when I turn the faucet handle and the drops start coming from the faucet, the tube stops leaking. So I decided to leave the handle turned on and let the drops fall into the sink instead of the bottom of the cabinet.

That tube is connected by fittings at each end, likely compression but I can't be sure. Try tightening the end fittings. If that does not work closing the house main is your next step since your stop cocks under the sink are not closing 100%.

It sounds like you have a hole in the supply line but try tightening the end fittings as Bob says, if that would not stop the leak you need to replace the supply line between the angle valve and the sink, also you need to fix the angle valve either replace the whole angle valve or the washer at the end of the stem see the picture below, before you replace the line ore fixing the angle valve make sure you shut off the water to the house, Thanks.
