Hi,

I am trying to file my Tax returns in the United states for the year 2008

I am living in the United States since July 13th 2008 and as on Dec 31st 2008 counts my stay in US less than 180 days for the period mentioned.

I would like to know from you that if i am eligible for a FULL Federal Tax return?

Is there a rule which mentions that people who are in US on L1 Visa and earning but have stayed less than 180 days in a year get to have their Federal Tax returned fully?

Some websites which offer e-filling of tax returns does not provide or ask me any questions on the duration of my stay.

Can you please advice me on regarding my further proceeding?

Thank you for your help.

Regards
Nithin

1. If you are single, you must file nonresident tax return. Your income is subject to federal and state income taxes. Read about L1 tax filing: http://taxipay.blogspot.com/2008/08/us-visas.htm

2. Nonresident tax return can not be efiled.
