Hello Ladies and Gentlemen: February 23, 2009
I am a new member, and I am looking forward to learning from you.
We have a Moen tub/shower control valve. It has a single-handle type of rotary knob. If it is pulled or pushed, then the water is on or off. If it is rotated, the water temperature is controlled. The same unit (under the rotary knob, covered by the same face plate) has a push-button diverter. If it is pushed, the water is diverted to the shower. If it is pulled, the water flows through the tub-spout.
The diverter does not work well, and water flows through the shower AND to the tub as well.
Lubrication with WD-40 did not help.
How can it be repaired? Is it necessary (worst case) to replace the entire unit?
Many thanks and regards,
