Hi, I have a question about my shower. I have a shower/bath tub combo in my bathroom. Recently I noticed that when I try to pull the shower diverter on the spout to take a shower barely any water goes to my shower head and most of it comes out of the spout. I have no idea what to do to fix it. Is there anything that I can do to fix this? Thank you for your help, Heather Mroz

Sounds like you have the same problem we have. Here is an answer from AFAROO:
It sounds that the diverter needs to be replaced, I am attaching both tub diverters slip type with no knob and the screw type check which one you got, if your is slip type with the knob, remove the spout take it to a plumbing supply and buy a new one to match, to install the slip type check the pipe for any sharp edge if any remove it before installing the spout, also make sure to use silicone jell to lubricate the o ring.

If it is the threaded type do the same thing take it out and get a new one, and buy some Teflon tape use it on threads and install the spout, good luck.

Unfortunately the fine pictures he sent would not copy.

Hi Heather, (I hope Mroz isn't your last name) If it is tell me and I'll delete it.
Not too good a idea to put your last name over the internet. Having said that, spouts are inexpensive and easy to install. There are several types of spouts.(see images) One is a metal threaded spout and the other's a slip on chrome finish over high impact plastic. How you can tell the difference is the slip on spout has a small square hole in the bottom next to the wall. Let me know what type you have and I'll walk you through the replacement. Cheers, Tom
