Does DISA require an I.D. or can anyone go in and take a drug screen and say they were Joe Blow and be registered. My question is if Disa accepted a drug screen without proper identification and slandered my name in the work force is there a liability suit against this organization?

Sure. If they are slandering you, you betcha you have a case...

But, upon further consideration, what drug using stranger would come into their office and tell them they're you?? Your scenario makes no sense...

If you can PROVE that somebody did it, then you've got a suit... But, I think you're just grabbing at straws to save your job.

I've never seen a drug test without ID - how were you slandered? What are your monetary damages from the slander? Here's something I wrote on the subject:

"Briefly - Generally in law libel refers to permanent/written statements and slander refers to non-permanent/spoken statements. Defamation (of character) covers both categories.

You must be damaged - and prove damages - in order to recover. The statements (either written or spoken) must be false but presented as though they were true and be beyond offensive, derogatory or insulting. Such statement must rise to a level which actually harms a person's reputation. In general the person making the statement must either know it isn't true or make the statement without attempting to verify if it is true.
