Hi...I have installed oracle9i..I know that the user name is "scott" and password is "tiger". I need the host string.. Help me:(

If you are on the same server you can just set SID and then connect using SQL*Plus.

Host string for what ?

Host string is used when you are going to connect with remote database.........
& that will be your net_service_name from tnsnames.ora file
