I'm a full-time student and a single mother of three. I didn't have any income for last year so am I still eligible to file taxes in the state of maryland?

You can file, but you probably will NOT get any refund back.

The biggest refund source is the federal Earned Income Credit, but you MUST have earned income to get that credit; same with the $1,000 Child Tax Credit.

You should keep an eye on the news, though, because you MAY need to file to qualify for the new Stimulus Rebate that just passed Congress.

I believe that individual get $500 and couples get $1,000.

The details about eligibility have NOT yet been released by the IRS, though.
