acupuncture in treatment for polyps in uterus

I would like to ask if there exist a possibility to treat polyps in uterus by acupuncture.
My question is for an 87 year old lady who otherwise has to have an operation with
general anaethesie.

I am surprised that they would do surgery for a polyp on a woman this old.
Acupuncture may help resolve a polyp but it takes too long. If she is at the point where they are recommending surgery I think she doesn't have the time to use acupuncture.
