I just got married in Ocober. My husband gets a disability check in Tennessee and and I have a w-2 in Missouri . But when we got married we moved to Arkansas. I did not work in arkansas at all in 2008. so how would I go about doing our taxes?

If you lived in Arkansas while working in Missouri in 2008, the money earned while living in Arkansas is subject to Arkansas state income taxes. Part of your husband's disability may also be subject to Arkansas state income taxes; that depends on how Arkansas treats disability income, and whether the disability income is from Social Security, the state of Tennessee, your husband's ex-employer or from a private insurance company.

You also need to pay state taxes to Missouri, but Arkansas should give you a credit for the pro-rated portion of the Missouri tax paid while living in Arkansas.

Tennessee is NOT an issue because Tennessee has no state income tax.

The computations to do all this can be a bit tricky, so I suggest you get professional tax help to prepare your federal, Arkansas and Missouri state tax returns.
