Hello Everyone,

I am preparing my boss's Corporate Taxes and I am not sure where to start. He has QuickBooks and is also in the middle of an IRS audit.

I have printed the tax summary, but it doesn't seem complete. I feel like there's things missing. I guess I need to find out what the business' income was last year. How do I do this?

Andrea:

Corporate tax returns are NOT for amateurs.

In fact, a fair number of tax professionals do not prepare corporate returns.

Even with tax software, they are extremely complicated and are VERY easy to screw up.

The fact that you do not know where to start indicates that you are in OVER YOUR HEAD!

Confess to your boss that you bit off more than you can chew and have him hire a CPA with experience filing corporate returns or an enrolled agent.
