I have tried and tried to get a tax ID number from this particular daycare in tennessee, but everytime i call, they tell me that "accountant" is gone for the day. I didnt claim the daycare money on 2007 taxes, cause of this same reason. I am not willing to do that this year..... Please help me with info on how i can get the tax ID number, or report them....

If you live close by, go there in person with a Form W-9 and present it to the manager. The W-9 is an IRS legal document that all vendrs and business MUST complete and return under the penalty of law.

Give the daycare center a week to fill it out and return it to you. If they fail to do so, call them and say that you will report them for NOT returning the W-9 when you file your tax return (which will then have to be filed by mail).

Trust me, the daycare center does NOT want the IRS breathing down their necks with a non-compliance fine. You WILL get their tax ID number eventually.

Yes agree, if they don't inform them you will have to report them to the IRS,
