I become immigrant Green card holder on 11/1/09. After obtaining GC, I plan to continue working abroad as a bonafide resident abroad. I am required to file Tax returns in Form 1040 and 2555 for 2 months of 2009 from 1st Nov 2009, and also I must write " DUAL STATUS RESIDENT" on top of 1040 form and attach a Statement of income for full year 2009. I may also have to attach if there are any foreign bank account information on some different treasury form?

What is this "statement of income" and in what format? Does it cover US Source income for what period or reporting? Does it also cover all bank informations? If there is no US Source income then will it be a NIL statement? Also will there be a treasury form to list bank accounts for the period 1st January to 30th Oct 2009.

For a dual-status return, the statement of income can be a standard pro-forma statement that lists your income amounts and sources. You can also use Form 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ for this purposes.

You list ONLY the U.S.-sourced income on this statement of income.

If you have NO U.S.-sourced income, then attach a statement stating that fact.

The list of foreign bank account information can be on blank sheet of paper.
