Hello I was wondering about how long is it before your period returns when you have a baby. I had 2 periods after he was born, but now he's 5 months and it's been 3 months since a period,I took a pregnancy test about 2 months ago and came up negative, any info?

Are you breast feeding? I know after having my son i had the normal bleed for three weeks after delivery and then nothing at all for seven months. The doctor told me it was because i was nursing. It could also just be your body taking a while to regulate itself and fully recover from labor.

There is a high count of estrogen in nursing women and it tricks the body into thinking it is pregnant causing you to not get your period. It could also just be your body taking a while to regulate itself and fully recover from labor.
