Hi.

trying for a baby, not happening though.

I dont have much fertile cervical mucus, could drinking too much coffee contribute to this?

and if so, how much coffee is too much?

would decaffe be better?

thanks

Caffeine can be an issue for some women as it effects people differently. How much is too much? Depends on the individual and it depends on which research you follow. For most a cup or two a day is likely not going to be an issue, but when in doubt, if you don't need it, do without it.....go decaf. (but check it, because some will still have a fair amount of caffeine in them) and still keep it reasonable.
I know there are various studies on caffeine use, but I see it as when you are trying to conceive, why not do all you can to possibly increase your odds?

Cervical mucus can sometimes be difficult to determine because it is not always as evident for some women. Some people don't notice much externally and have to do internal checks.

There are a few things that some have found helpful...increasing your general fluid intake, some extra vitamin B6, evening primrose oil, and guaifenesin. Do your research on these things and speak to your doctor before trying some of them.

I had a pharmacist/chemist in one of my classes who had been trying for some time, read about guaifenesin, decided to give it a try, and, well....she was in my pregnancy/childbirth class...:) Was it due to what she tried?....no way to know for sure.
