I have a practically brand new (only a few months old) American Standard faucet in my kitchen. It make a loud thud last night and just stopped dispensing hot water. It will still run cold water just fine, but it is not letting any hot water out at all. I do not know the model #, or type-but is is a single contol handle.

You may have debris inside your faucet,Shut off both cold and hot angle valves under the sink, remove the handle the cartridge or the ball turn on the water for a few seconds to flush out the debris out, assemble the faucet and see if it works, good luck.

That did not work, all I can do is get the faucet off the actual sink, I can see where the water lines go in, but I can not access the ball, or the inner workings. There are no screws or threads for me to take apart the faucet.

Hi Jared

You don't have to remove the faucet. Remove the handle, and the cap and the cartridge or the ball, I don't have American standard single handle faucet, see the attach picture will give you and idea what I am talking about, it's Delta and Moen faucets American standards are similar, Thanks.

John,

Thank you very much for trying to help, I really appreciate it. Unforutnatley my faucet is a modern style, and there is no screws or threads on any part of the handle in order for me to take the handle or any part that is above the sink apart. It is really weird. (I did not pick out the faucet) none of the pictures that you provided resemble my set up.

Once again, thank you very much, if you think of anything else, please let me know.

Hi Jared,

I will be more than happy to help you if you will provide me the model number or a photo of your faucet; also you said that it is only a few months old you can either return it to the store where you purchased or call American Standard for replacement, good luck.

Also I re read your post is it a kitchen faucet or bath room, because I have sent pictures of a kitchen faucet.

I'm having the same problem... just started this morning... hot water not dispensing but cold water is fine... could it have something to do with temperatures dropping significantly last night? Hot water in bathroom is fine.

Hello Jared/kathyann

Open the link below it is similar to your faucet, Shut off water to the faucet Hot and cold remove the small plug and the set screw remove the handle and the cap and you will have access to the cartridge, remove the cartridge turn on the water for a few seconds to flush out the debris out, install the cartridge and see if you have hot water if not you will need to replace the cartridge, Good Luck.
