I would like to know how can I go about concealing my felonies from jobs that I applied for? I live in New York. I have a state Felony. My career is mechanics. And also since the state refuses to conceal my felony and preventing me from working, is there a way to collect Social Disability?

There is no such thing as Social Disability as you put it. There is Social Security Disability and with that you have to be physically disabled and unable to perform your job with a permenent disability. Takes lots of doctor visits, tests, final determination of disability to qualify for this.

You'll just have to apply to employers who don't do criminal checks. The state doesn't refuse to conceal felonies - the state just verifies felonies.

Do you mean Welfare or Social Security?

Have you considered attempting to get the felony expunged from your record? Many factors enter into the process in NY (age when convicted, type of crime, time since sentencing) but it can be done.
