What is the difference in Defrosting A/C coils, and Cleaning A/C coils? My problem is I have been charged for cleaning, when all that occurred was Water poured on the coils to remove ice, which I believe to be a totally different service...certainly not worth 190.00 ...for the 15 minutes (top) it took to hose down the coils.

The service rate you are charged may vary based on how cold it is outside and how long the service guy spends shivering while he de-ices your unit, difficulty of access to unit, weekend/overtime charges, etc.

Wow, what else was done for this princely sum? Was a part changed out? If you are unhappy (who could be happy paying $190 for coil defrosting/cleaning) with this price, I would suggest that you contact the owner of the company you hired/paid and discuss a refund as soon as possible. Just stewing over being overcharged won't help your situation. You need to pick up the phone (or better yet) go in person to their offices (if they have an office to go to that is) and sit down and CALMLY talk to the owner and see what arrangements could be made.

This service call occurred in South Georgia! No shivering at all. I immediately called the Owner, who is now the wife of the deceased owner I always dealt with. I was courteous, but she immediately spat back that I could not set her prices and water was cleaning the coils! I have since paid a partial payment and written a letter (cordial) letter asking for an adjustment. Again instant threat to take me to court. I am gathering information in case that happens.
