Hi I am a 22 year old girl from East Anglia,England.
Last summer I went through an abortion and although id planned to keep it a secret, people found out and then proceded to abuse me about it,which has been terribly traumatic. I received abuse at work, nothing was done,as it was 'regular' customers/friends,I was called a baby killer (through text) as well as publicly humiliated and shouted at with an audience hearing all, more recently an ex friend who is the person who told everybody, is telling everyone that I told everyone that a mutual friend had been the father, which is not true and nor is it true that I said it.I am distraught by these lies and the defamation to my character, this person will not stop till I'm crushed,I have had problems sleeping, depression, awful guilt feelings and have had to create a whole new group of friends out of the area because of it...can I do anything legally about this,I'm so mad and so upset.
Thanks,Natalie

I don't know England law but here in the USA pretty much the only way you can sue is if it caused you loss of work/money and/or expenses for your emotional problems such as needing to see a psychiatrist or something.

If you have a place like planned parenting you could ask them if there are any support groups you could join.
