Hepatitis C is caused by a virus. It is a blood-borne disease. There is no cure. It is not inherited, though it might be able to be passed from mother to unborn child).

Hepatitis C is mostly transmitted by shared needles (drug addicts or abusers), and blood transfusions. It can also be a sexually-transmitted disease.
