I am having an issue with caluclating thre preferred and common stock dividends. Read the chapters over and over, but still do not have a grasp of what the text is saying.
Example:
Cumulative Preferred Stock -Par Value $100 - Shares O/S 40,000 7% cumulative paid $140,000.00 in dividends.

Common Stock-$20 Par Value - 600,000 shares O/S

Can you explain how I can determine the dividends per share and total diviens to be paid for both stocks?
