I have a really sensitive scalp that scabs up and itches constantly my doctor told me to stop dying my hair today and it will clear up, I want it to clear up obviously because it drives me mad the trouble is I am a vibrant red which I love but am prepared to go back to my natural colour.

I have started to fade the red with an anti dandruff shampoo that the doctor recommended to help my scalp also (Head and shoulders)
My question is can I get it lightened back to my natural colour at a salon? Any ideas how much it will cost?

I'm planning on trying to get back to my natural colour which is a dirty blonde but having a few highlights so it doesn't look dull I'm also planning on having It cut short as I know bleaching it will most likely really damage my hair and its already pretty dry on the ends.

This is me now:

and this is what I would like to get to:

Any help would be really apprecaited, I dont know what to do

Thanks

Wouldn't that be exposing your scalp to dye and chemicals again? Why not let it GROW out to the natural color.

It would take me about 10 years to grow my hair out to the length I have it now.!!! Highlights dont actually touch the scalp so they would be ok and im willing to take the pain whilst they strip it just so I dont have to go through the horror of having half of my hair dirty blonde and the other half bright red, you think this would be a good look? :D

In that case I would call a Salon and ask for prices.
Good luck :)

personal, let it grow out at least a bit, perhaps 6 months or more.
Then they do not have to work so near the scalp

You should really let it grow out.

But if you desperately want it coloured, let the roots grow out a little and then go to a good reputable salon, explain to them what the doctor said then they should be able to colour the mid lengths, ends and leave the roots out to avoid getting colour onto your scalp.

I just got a bad allergic reaction to a black hair dye. The Doctor said it can take up to 7 days for your body to react to a new allergy.

Do you have an itchy scalp? Is your scalp wet like an open wound? Do you have lumps under your skin on the back of your had and neck?

If so go buy a Peppermint Oil based leave in conditioner and leave it on your hair after you shower. It will help you make it through the night without itching. You can leave it in during the day to if you wear a head wrap or bandana.

And call a dermatologist to get a shot. My reaction took over a week in a half to develop so catch it before it gets worse.

The are Non toxic dyes @<hidden> salons. There hard to get your hands on though. The itch and bumps are most likely allergic reactions to the dye your using. Once your body figures out what it doesn't like the 48hr skin tests work. so your ok to try other dyes.
