I didn't know if sound was a part of physics or not, so not sure of what science class to put this Q under. Hope someone can help.

Does anyone know of a chart that maybe lists the dBA of breeds of dogs barks or does anyone who has access to a decibel meter know/have an austalian shepherd to give an approximate level for the sound of a typical Australian Shephard warning-type of bark?
Thanks.

Dear wallabee4

this depends of course on the specific dog : just as different humans speak with different volumes, different dogs bark with different volumes.

Sound for reference purposes is normally measured at 1 meter distance from the source.

As indication : a barking dog can produce anything between 80 and 110 dB.

:)
