You should ask your folks, I'm pretty sure your dad/mom (depending on who's side he's from) would know, or look it up on the internet

What is his full name, including middle, where was he born and where was he living when he died, and do you know at least an @ year or years of death

If you know where your grandfather is buried, then you can contact the cemetery. If it is a perpetual care cemetery, they normally keep records such as date of birth, date of death and copies of the published obituary.
