You can STILL file your 2007 return.

You can file your 2007 return ANYTIME in the next 50 years if you want.

However, you want to claim a refund, you must file by 15 April 2011. After that date, you forfeit the refund.

Now, about the W-2s, contact your old employer and ask him to send them to you. You may have to pay a small fee (perfectly legal, if a bit classless).

If the employer is no longer available, contact the IRS and get a copy of your tax script for 2007. The W-2 information will be in the script. Also, contact your state tax agency and ask for the same info.

The IRS will fax you the script if you ask, often on the same day.

How fast the state gets you the tax info depends on the which state you are dealing with.
