I have a Peerless hot water boiler that I use promarily for hot water. It periodically kicks on for short bursts (5 - 8 minutes) even when I am not using hot water.
Will it harm the boiler if I turn it off so it only runs when I need hot water?
I burn wood for heat so it is NOT kicking on due to my thermostat demands.
THanks!

If you turn off the boiler and only turn on when you need hot water it will take some time to get hot water on a normal boiler setup.
