What would be the best antivirus & antispyware software to buy?

It all depends on the malware infecting your system . With 100,000 different types of malware it is important to know the exact one.

Run an online virus scan like ESET Online Scan (http://spywarefighter.blogspot.com/2008/09/eset-online-scan.html)

And you need the essential anti spyware tools (http://spywarefighter.blogspot.com/2008/09/3-steps-to-remove-spyware.html)

Hi, red grasshopper121

There are a lot of anti-virus and anti-spyware programs that a person could choose from to buy. I like to use the free ones that are available. What I currently use is ZoneAlarm coupled with AVG Free Edition. If you do a Google search for either of them, and include the word Free in the search. You will be able to find them. I rarely have any problems with spyware or viruses.

I'm sure that there will be others who will come along to address your question.

Thanks!

Here's a couple links to reviews, Bitdefender is listed as #1, personally like Kaspersky for myself

Go with 2009, but the ratings will still be consistent as far as they are listed in the reviews

If you're using Windows OneCare, you'll have to point your questions at them and their forums:

Windows Live OneCare (http://forums.microsoft.com/windowsonecare/default.aspx?siteid=2)

I doubt many power computer users here use nor recommend this particular product.
