mercury36 May 27, 2006, 09:42 AM Ok the beat now bear with me goes something like this nanana...nananana...nannana...nanana...nana-nananananana. Ok I know that doesn't help to much. It has no lyrics and sometimes at dances is like the strobe light song, any suggestions would be very helpful. I have been searchign for months.
Tommyp!972 May 27, 2006, 09:46 AM Could it perhaps be The Hamster Dance?
Sorry Hamster Dance has words later in song..my bad....but still a good tune to listen to....lol
mercury36 May 27, 2006, 01:08 PM I believe it has also been used at hockey games
Tommyp!972 May 27, 2006, 04:28 PM Not nana nana hey hey hey goodbye....?
mercury36 May 28, 2006, 08:58 AM Nope it has no words. I know this is really hard to figure out, I do really appreaciate the trying though.
ckc_2k May 30, 2006, 10:44 AM I think its from Las Ketchup
100Years2Live Jun 1, 2006, 05:41 AM Could it be Rampe by Daddy Yankee, it is a very popular dance song.
Tomcat84 Jun 7, 2006, 03:48 PM Is it the one with the series of ohh ohhh ohhh ohhh's?
CEP0817 Jun 21, 2006, 06:43 PM I know what song you are talking about...I am pretty sure.
The reason I found this website and this post was because I was googling to try to find the song. The "nanana...nananana...nannana...nanana...nana-nananananana" is not someone going "nanana" its a machine or keyboard, am I right?
To tomcat, I think you are referring to The Zombie Nation song, which is the only similar song I found in my quest.
I think Paul Oakenfold may have to do something with this song, but I am probably wrong.
Hopefully we will find out soon.
otakon_ Jul 4, 2006, 07:54 AM I'm on the exact same boat as CEP0817. :D
I've been googling in it for some time 'till my nose bump in here and as far as I can tell about "our" song, it's a mix of dance and disco thing and it as LYRICS, I remember hearing in english ("..Knowing...") and spanish("...qero te..."). It's not Rompe (not Rampe) of Daddy Yankee, that's an annoying bad recorded music of reagge/hip hop, it really sucks. BEAR WITH US, "our" song is so popular these days >.< we hear it on T.V, Football Stadiums, parties, discos... Someone must know what we talkin'! :p
"Hey (I think) nanananananananana nie (sounds like that)"
zoom98 Jul 13, 2006, 06:19 PM "Naaaa, na, HEY!, na na naaaa na, na naaaa, na, HEY!, naaaa na..."
GARY GLITTER, "Rock and Roll Part 2"
DrJ Jul 13, 2006, 06:47 PM I feel like I'm in the twilight zone... All these people looking for this song keep finding this thread... And the all searched for nanana...nananana...nannana...nanana...nana-nananananana....
Im freakin out, man! :D
nolan728 Jul 15, 2006, 05:37 AM I know exactly what song you are reffering to. I wish I knew the name because along with others I am trying to find out as well through searches. I know its one some dance cd's but there are millions and it would take an extremely long time to figure out that 1 song...WHOEVER KNOWS THE NAME OF THIS TECHNO/DANCE SONG PLEASE PLEASE POST IT ON THIS BLOG! :)
DrJ Jul 15, 2006, 11:01 AM If someone could post the time, timing of the nananas, or anything about the rhythm, that would be a BIG help because the nananas are not enough for the people who don't already know what song you are talking about.
22176 Jul 16, 2006, 07:59 AM I have the answer. I too have been trying to track the name of this song down for ages and have finally found it. It is called:
Carnival de paris
By:
Dario g
This song, if its the one your looking for is the official theme tune for the world cup 1998 which was held in france, hence the name of the song.
Hope this has helped you out.
Danny. :)

s2tp Dec 8, 2006, 05:03 PM Umm I am crying laughing that your looking for a song by explaining it as nanan nanna nanana.....oh my! Whew...ok maybe I just lack sleep, but thanks for the laughs....and sorry if not as funny to anyone else...
BTW when I first read the question I was thinking of Roxanne by the Police...cause they really do 'sing nanana nananananaa nananan an nanaa (give or take a few nana's) she's got the look!'
However that song is OLD and Nowhere near techno...Oh and it has words, none spanish..
She's got the look? Police? Now I am ROFLOL! That is Roxette!
Rooooooxanne, you don't have to turn on that red light..........Roooooooxanne
s2tp Dec 8, 2006, 05:22 PM Darn it I don't like sharing my 'reputation' points...arrg

dcman Jan 30, 2007, 02:10 PM Glossary entry for
Land of a thousand dances
This may be a reference to a Wilson Pickett song called "Land of a Thousand Dances", although the lyrics to that song set a completely different mood to the song Van makes the reference in:
Land of a Thousand Dances
(Writers: Chris Kenner & Antoine 'Fats' Domino)
One, two, three
One, two, three
OW!
Do it!
Alright!
Uh!
Got to know how to Pony
Like 'Bony Maronie'
'Mashed Potato'
Do 'The Alligator'
Put your hand on your hips, yeah
Let your backbone slip
Do the 'Watusi'
Like my little Lucy
OW! Uh!
Na, na-na-na-na
Na-na-na
Na-na-na
Na-na-na
Na-na-na-na
I need somebody help me say it one time!
(Chorus)
Na, na-na-na-na
Na-na-na
Na-na-na
Na-na-na
Na-na-na-na
WOW-OOOOW!
(Instrumental & sax solo)
OOW! UH!
You know I feel alright?
Huh!
Feel pretty good y'all
Uh-huh!
Na, na-na-na-na
Na-na-na
Na-na-na
Na-na-na
Na-na-na-na
C'mon ya'all, let's say it one more time!
(Chorus)
Na, na-na-na-na
Na-na-na
Na-na-na
Na-na-na
Na-na-na-na
OOOOH!
Dancin' in the alley
With 'Long Tall Sally'6
'Twistin'7 with Lucy
Doin' the Watusi
Roll over on your back
I like it like that
Do that Jerk8, oh

kenman65 Feb 23, 2007, 04:54 PM I believe the song you're thinking of is "Land Of A Thousand Dances". Wilson Picket made it popular in the 1960's but it's been covered by many other bands.
Hope this is what you were looking for....:-)

southerngalps Mar 3, 2007, 11:18 AM I believe the song you are looking for is "Cant get you out of my head" by Kylie Monigue. She is actually singing La la la la la la lala la, can't get you out of my head. It is a dance song.
southerngalps Mar 3, 2007, 11:21 AM I believe the song might be "I can't get you out of my head" by Kylie Monigue. She says a series of La la's that sound like Na Na's then she sings "cant get you out of my head", it was a popular dance song.
OOPS I answered the question twice.
animeluver06 Mar 28, 2007, 04:54 PM I have to point this out even thought this thread is old. The person said there was no lyrics and yet almost everyone suggested a song that does have lyrics. >>;;

whatthenameofthissong Feb 4, 2008, 02:32 PM Hey there
I have also been looking for this song for ages and I'm sure I'm talking about the same one!
Facts:
1- a woman singing
2- no lyrics (or almost none)
3- not a very old song. Kind of dance/techno music. Often played in clubs (at least all over Europe). Kind of summer song very entertaining
4- sounds like "nanananana oh oh oh" and then a few words and again
5- no rock, no hip hop, not an oldie from the 60s
It's not underdog project or zombie (even if the song are cool). And def. Not around the world, hot strepper, roxanne... These songs anyway have lyrics and it's easy peasy to find them! We are talking here about a tricky one!
Hope someone out there can help
Xo
whatthenameofthissong Feb 8, 2008, 02:27 PM I FOUND IT it's MYMYMY from Armand Van Helden!

KillerPipes May 3, 2008, 01:34 PM New to this forum, looking for the same darned song. It's not any of what's been posted so far (listened to all samples of answers).
Oooh, this is driving me CRAZYYYYY!
southerngalps May 4, 2008, 09:40 AM If there are no lyrics and the beat sounds like na na na na na.......I think this sounds like
THE LAUNCH...played at the clubs when I started going to afterhours and so on back in 2000.
Actually...there are a few lyrics which say get ready for the launch. I viewed it on youtube.
DJ JEAN-THE LAUNCH...but the beat to me sounds like na na na...

:) Thanks so much, but not the right one. It's almost funny how hard this song is to track down, yet everyone would know it if they heard it. It's not as old as 2000, more like released in '06-'08-ish. It's more smooth than the Launch song. The mmmnananana is the majority of it, but with a woman's voice coming in, only now and then.
Again, thank you!
KillerPipes May 5, 2008, 12:08 PM If I may also add, this song has been used in a recent commercial, but can't remember which. Like a car ad, or ipod, or makeup or something. Looked through all commercials recently and couldn't find it either. Kind of as popular as that Target ad (You say goodbye, I say hello) - NOTE - this is NOT the song. Just an example of how damn catchy this song is, and how used in a commercial. But it is NOT Sandstorm, or MYMYMYMY, etc.
Sounds like, "Mmm nanana, duhduhduh, mmmnananana." Mind you, they're not saying duh, but that's just the sound. :D I swear, whomever made this song popular has got to be laughing their off at how hard we're working to find it. Seems it would be so much easier to find, considering how popular it is. Also been played in clubs - but again, not an old song.
KillerPipes May 5, 2008, 12:09 PM ok the beat now bear with me goes something like this nanana...nananana...nannana...nanana...nana-nananananana. Ok I know that doesn't help to much. Have you yet found what you're looking for? Think we're after the same thing. If so, please pass along. =) Thanks!
tf7426 May 5, 2008, 04:21 PM Might be: freaks - the creeps
An idea: try wisling the song (acurately mind) in a mic and host the file and would make it a bit easier than nananaduhduh lol.
KillerPipes May 8, 2008, 02:16 PM Ok, was at a place in OC last night called La Cav and it came on. I shot out of my chair asking the band/dj what it was and he said it was something along the lines of a song (remake of original) named Stars in the Sky, or Sky Full of Stars? Damn the wine I drank - my memory is a bit bad now.... Food for thought - the search continues.
KillerPipes May 9, 2008, 01:40 AM Ok, I hope this helps, cause this has been driving me NUTS. Went out last night and was told this was a remake of a song by Norman Greenbaum called "Spirit in the Sky". What I can't figure out is who sings the version we're all looking for. Looked on club mix lists, commercials, etc. It is DEFINITELY the song, but not the right cover (looking for the electronic version with the gal singing the one lyric she does, and there's the "mmnananana" chorus. But this IS the song...can someone help find the current version we're looking for? It's not dj dubois, etc.
Many thanks, hope this helps, and if someone can post the answer to the second part, you'd make many a friend. :D
tf7426 May 9, 2008, 11:02 AM There's a trance song called spirit in the sky by intimo

Ok, the song that I have found to match what I was looking for (and MAY be what you're looking for is called "Ooh La la" by a British group called Goldfrapp.
Here's a link to the Wikipedia listing, and there's a sample to listen as well:

alucardt Sep 12, 2008, 01:22 AM I was so hoping to find the song here....does your song have a house feel to it? Well probably a bit more upbeat right? I've been looking everywhere too, but can't find it.
wolfgangqpublic Oct 2, 2008, 08:35 PM hey there
I have also been looking for this song for ages and I'm sure I'm talking about the same one!
Hope someone out there can help

b3d Apr 22, 2009, 04:19 AM Heyy, ok I have gone though all the songs mentioned the song I am looking for is different to the one described, the one I am looking for is a club mix I heard it in vic australia, its really dirty house sounding with 0 lyrics, not one, nothing, it plays along with faces of meth - mark coleman, but ok it sounds like a dirty synth going, nana na na na ( end one 4/4 bar) nana nanananaaa(") nana na nana (") na na na na(< low nar) na naHH(< high pitch na) I hope people understand that thanks again
redone00 Apr 28, 2009, 05:42 PM Ini Kamoze - Here Comes The Hotstepper big thanks for m_arcel_o:)
ROSA1234 Jun 16, 2009, 01:43 PM I am the same as the other two, but I don't think the last person who commetned is thinking of the same song, I pretty sure I am though. It has absoloutely no lyrics, well none that I can here anyway. And the 'INDIE NIGHAT' that I go always plays it with strobe lights in different parts of the song. It also has the na na nan na na na which is not sung or is a vocal but is some sort of noise. It also like speeds up and once it goes so fast if breaks in to like a rave thing and the strbe ligts begin. I am looking for this song to so if anyone can help I would be so grateful. I am also watching 'occupation' on bbc1 and it has just been played when a man is in his room fumping on the bed and stuff.
I would like help on finding this song to
