The Windows logon screen started showing up this morning. I've never used a logon ID or password. I tried clicking past this without entering anything but nothing happens. I get the same screen when starting in safe mode.

As this is my laptop I should start using the logon. However how do I go about setting the ID and password if I've never used it before? I definitely need to get past the logon prompt so I can use the computer. I'd prefer not to reinstall XP again as I did last month.

This is Windows XP home edition and SP3 is installed. All Microsoft updates have been applied. In fact I suspect the .net 1, net 2, and .net 3 updates I applied last night caused this problem.

Password control is within User Accounts in the control panel.
That's where you setup your password, etc.
