My son, 25 yrs old, was put on suboxyn to try to end his dependency on opiates (not too familar with drug terms). Now when I try to get him in a rehab they won't take him unless he is off of the suboxyn for 10 days. Then I hear that if he does go to rehab for 30 days it probably won't help him. I don't know what to do. I don't have a lot of money and can't afford long term. One place told me to send him to Texas, a great rehab there but its
$30,000. Can anyone relate to these problems. I feel hopeless.

I can a little bit- does he have any kind of medical insurance?
I quit without methadone or suboxin, cold turkey
also without rehab, I go to Narc-Anon,
sometimes I want to do it again, but I call up a friend
and they take me out somewhere,
Rehab will help him, if he is ready to be helped,
take him off of suboxin-
If he has insurance of any kind
they will pay for rehab, sorry I can't be of much help
I wish that my mother cared as much as you seem to.

Yes, while you want to help him, unless he is wanting the help and wanting to turn his life around there is little you can do.

Thanks for your help. We had to have something like a Baker Act done just to get him in someplace to help him. We had taken him ourself to two other places and they told us it was not life threatening enough for them to keep him. We were told to Baker Act him and they would have to help him. He was willing so he was picked up today. He went with them fine as he wants the help. Sure breaks a mothers heart to see it done this way but with the system we have - I feel bad for others wanting help and no place to turn. Thanks for your thoughts. It helps.
