Hello,
I have been on F-1 status since march, 2003 and have not left the US till date except for a period of about 4 1/2 months when I went home to India. I graduated in December, 2005 and have been working on OPT since January 1st, 2006. My employer has been deducting SS taxes and Medicare from my pay check. I was told by one of my friends that they shouldn't be doing that and that i'm eligible to get to get the money back.
My question at this point is, am I considered a Resident Alien or a Non-resident Alien and am I eligible to get the money back? If I can, is there any thing that I can print off to show them?
Thanks!
