Yesterday our Small Carrier outside ac unit fan motor was stuck and a humming noise was coming from it. I lightly banged on it and it started to turn normally. we changed the capacitor last year because it would not turn the fan and that fixed it now its sticking regularly. it blows cold and fine . the fan motor looks a little worn has some grease caking around it. do you think it could be the fan motor itself seizing?

Could be. Also can be the contactor sticking. You will just have to open unit up and do some testing. When it stops running is the contactor still pulled in??

Probably is the motor. If the contactor was sticking the outside unit would never turn off.

Not to sound mean but it looks like your getting ready to buy a new motor and your second run capacitor. Brace your self and bite the bullet.
