I have a finished basement at a house I rent out. My best friend wants to live there in exchange for babysitting for my kids. I live in Nassau County NY. Am I able to do that? Is is legal or not? I am not getting money just exchange for babysitting.

Thanks for your time.

You can not rent it out, you can furnish a room to a nanny of your child as part of her package of employment.
