I know somebody that has a Rheem Imporial Classic Heat Pump or something like that. and the compressor stoped running should he replace the compressor or should he fix it. the compressor was installed in the year 89' with the Rheem/Honeywell T87 with single stage option. The indoor coil/air handler is working and its in he crawl space?

Replace that 1989 unit with a complete new one. It is not worth it to just replace the compressor on the old unit. Just think in a few month that system will be 20 years old. Time for new.
