How do I obtain a w2 from 2001? I applied for a liquor license and was told I needed to file my state taxes from 2001. I have been sent in circles calling the IRS, they transfer to accts, who transfers to state, who tells me to contact the IRS. Help?

You CAN get the transcript for 2001 from either the IRS or the state. The IRS may even fax it to you. There will be no charge.

The problem with the IRS transcript is the amount of state income taxes withheld is NOT usually included, whereas the state transcript SHOULD have that information.
