I am filing 1040A for year 2005. I have following Qs.

1. I use public transport to goto work every day. Can I deduct my transportaion cost(around $700 )?

2. Since I am on H-1 visa, can I deduct my H1-stamping costs? around $2000 (I went to back to my country to get the visa stamped)

1) Negative; that's commuting, and commuting is NEVER deductible.
