July 24th i was diagnosed with PCOS...

I wanted my doctor to run blood test and check my hormone levels...

He never took any blood and told me that based on my history he didn't feel the need to run any test. He then wrote me a rx of Metformin 500mg and told me to take two a day..

Metformin is used to treat insulin resistance... So why wouldn't he have ran ANY test to see if my insulin levels were off.. or that any of my hormones are off??

this is the first time i've been to the doctor in a while because of a bad visit...

My mom wants me to get a second opinion but it will be hard to get the co-pay to cover another visit...

What should I do?? Just take the Metformin or try for the second opinion??
