The 84-year-old bride

The local news station was interviewing an 84-year-old lady because she had just gotten married for the forth time.
The interviewer asked her questions about her life, about what it felt like to be marrying at age 84, and then about her new husband’s occupation.
“He’s a funeral director,” she answered.

Interesting the newsman thought, then he asked her if she wouldn’t mind telling him a little about her first three husbands and what they did for a living.
She paused for a few moments, needing time to reflect on all those years.

After a short time, a smile came to her face and she answered proudly explaining that she first married a banker when she was in her early 20’s, then a circus ringmaster when she was in her 40’s later on a preacher when in her 60’s, and now, a funeral director.

The interviewer looked at her, quite astonished, and asked why she had married four men with such divers careers.

“Easy son,” she smiled.

“I married one for the money, …two for the show,…three to get ready,…and four to go.”

That was good ! My dad who is 86 has a new girl friend who is 85. They came here to Las Vegas last month for the roll off their bowling league. Instead of staying here at our house, they opted for a room in the hotel they bowled at. We went to watch them bowl and took them to dinner, that's when they ditch us ! I finally gave up on them. Not answering their door, or phone and not meeting us as planned. Go figure ?

Actually, "two for the show" means she married the second husband "for the show," "three to get ready" means she married the third husband to "get ready", etc.
