My central air conditioning system is not working. The outside ac unit is on, but the inside blower is on for just a couple seconds before cutting out. The inside blower works when I change the thermostat to heat mode. I've checked the inside circuit breakers and the outside fuses and they are all good. In addition, the furnace filter is still clear... allowing air flow. Any ideas?

Check to see if you have a A/C blower relay located in the inside blower unit.
It could be intermittent.

When you turn the blower to ON at the thermostat does it keep running?

When the thermostat is on heat mode and the fan is set to "ON", the inside blower keeps running. However, when the thermostate is on cool mode and the fan is set to "ON", the inside blower runs for a minute or so and then cuts out.

How do I check to see if there is an AC blower relay? There is a small box mounted to the side of the blower and it has two wires coming into it. Is that a relay? This is all new to me.

Look on the wiring diagram on the blower door to locate relay.

Model number and name of unit?
