We would like to buy a AC system and a vendor told us that 410(puron for carrier system) is banned from Europe because it is dangerous for our health, and there is a new product 412 that is coming on the market???

R-22 will be no more available in 2020 and the 410 is not good but 412 is not yet available!!!

is it me or everybody is telling a different thing!!!

We are completely lost!!

Even if R410 and R22 are carcinogins, they are used in a closed system and are required by the EPA to be recovered. A leak will cause a release in the atmosphere. Home AC units rarely leak if installed properly. They can go 40 years or more without leaking because the compressor is sealed. Auto air conditioners are another story.

Here is the scoop on R410A: http://www.honeywell.com/sites/docs/doc19194b8-fb3ebe9312-3e3e4447ab3472a0c2a5e5fdc1e6517d.pdf

One story, I always like to tell is that water can be harmful. Too much water can be dangerous. You drown. This is also a fun read. Dihydrogen monoxide hoax (http://www.bookrags.com/wiki/Dihydrogen_monoxide_hoax)
