I have a mercury switch Weathertron thermostat that I am wanting to replace with a digital thermostat. Before labeling the wires I had already disconnected them from the old thermostat. The wire colors I have are:

black
orange
green
yellow
brown
red
white
blue

The letters on the old thermostat are:

X2
O
G
Y
T
R
W
U
F
B

I believe U and F were not used, and it looks like there is a metal rod connection between W and U.

Would anyone know what wires went to which letter? I need this info in order to hook up the new thermostat correctly.

Thanks!

Here is a list of possible wiring uses. In your case use the GE bay section. NOTE the new thermostat will probably not have a F terminal. Just tape it off you will not need it.
